Per-Anders Abrahamsson
Secretary General, European Association of Urology (EAU)
Per-Anders Abrahamsson is Secretary General of the European Association of Urology (EAU). He is also a
Professor of Urology at Lund University, Chairman of the Department of Urology at Malmö University Hospital in
Sweden and Adjunct Professor in the Department of Urology at the University of Rochester Medical Center in
Rochester, New York. He has previously served as Chairman of the Department of Urology at Lund University
Hospital. Professor Abrahamsson is the author of 275 scientific publications, including book chapters and books,
and is a member of the Editorial Boards of several scientific journals. He has been the main organiser of several
international conferences, is a frequently invited speaker at scientific meetings and has received a number of
national and international awards. Professor Abrahamsson received his MD and PhD from Lund University. ■
Walter Artibani
Adjunct Secretary General, European Association of Urology (EAU)
Walter Artibani is Adjunct Secretary General of the European Association of Urology (EAU). He is also a Professor
and Chairman of the Department of Urology at the University of Padova. He is a general urologist with a special
interest in functional urology (urinary incontinence, pelvic floor disorders and outflow obstruction) and
reconstructive surgery (urinary diversion and pelvic floor surgery). He is particularly interested in urological
applications of evidence-based medicine, quality control and continuous professional development. He was
President of the Italian Urodynamics Society twice from 1989 to 1994 and is Editor in Chief of Urodinamica,
Neurourology, Continence and Pelvic Floor. Professor Artibani has published more than 400 papers and has
been involved in several national and international research trials. ■
Linda Cardozo
Professor of Urogynaecology and Head, Urogynaecology Department, King’s College Hospital, London
Linda Cardozo is a Professor of Urogynaecology and Head of the Urogynaecology Department at King’s
College Hospital, London. She has a large clinical workload dealing with complex urogynaecological
problems in a supra-regional tertiary referral unit, teaching medical students, training junior doctors and
undertaking clinical research. Professor Cardozo is Chairman of the British Society of Urogynaecology
(BSUG), Chairman of the Continence Foundation UK and President of the Association of Chartered
Physiotherapists in Women’s Health (ACPWH). In addition, Professor Cardozo is a Fellows Representative on
the Council of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RCOG) and Vice Chairman of the
World Health Organization (WHO) International Consultation on Incontinence. ■
Christopher R Chapple
Adjunct Secretary General, European Association of Urology (EAU)
Christopher R Chapple is Adjunct Secretary General of the European Association of Urology (EAU). He is also
a Consultant Urological Surgeon at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital and a Visiting Professor of Urology at the
Sheffield Hallam University. He is an active member of the American Association of Genito-urinary Surgeons
(AAGUS), the European Association of Academic Urologists (EAAU) and the Urological Research Society (URS).
Professor Chapple is Editor of Neurourology and Urodynamics, is on the Editorial Board of several journals and
has published over 250 articles in peer-reviewed journals. He is Past Director of Research at the Sheffield
Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. He trained at the Middlesex Hospital and the Institute of Urology in London. ■
